1. Amplify your organization’s perspective and concerns in the public dialogue about a safe Internet
   • Safe Internet seeks to unite all relevant interests and demographics: Internet safety organizations, non-profits, industry associations, companies and others around the common and growing problem of abuse, crime and bad actors on the Internet.
   • This will be an opportunity for your organization to bring a unique perspective to the concerns of Internet safety through the eyes of the community you represent.

3. Collaborate by sharing the resources and networks of other members
   • As a member, you can partner with the Safe Internet community, network, and website for ideas, collaboration and resources.
   • Stay informed and learn about opportunities to participate in the latest hearings, testimony, conferences, panels and news on Internet safety.
   • Network with other members to share information and diversify outreach.
4. Advance an Internet ethic of respect and accountability online
   • Amazingly, until now there has been no widespread grassroots effort to encourage a consensus Internet code of ethics such as: respect for people, privacy, property, and the rule of law; and accountability to other users, terms of service and the authorities.
   • Safe Internet will encourage every association and professional organization with a code of ethics to update it to include Internet ethics, and encourage every corporate/social responsibility effort to add an Internet ethic dimension.

What is unique about Safe Internet Alliance?

• It will bring together all entities affected by the Internet around a common problem – the lack of accountability and deterrence on the Internet, and a common goal: a “Safe Internet.”
• It will work to create a critical mass of support for an ongoing public service advertising campaign that helps consumers have safer online experiences.
• It will encourage all organizations with codes of ethics or social responsibility guidelines to incorporate an ethic of respect and accountability online.
• It will facilitate problem-solving across Internet “silos” to develop and promote better methods for thwarting online crime, abuse and misconduct.
