Safe Internet Alliance Announces Eight New Members
WASHINGTON - The Safe Internet Alliance today announced eight new members: AOL, the Women’s High-Tech Coalition, Net Literacy, ICUC Moderation Services, Inc., Consumers First, Financial Publishers Association, The National Puerto Rican Coalition, and 443 Consulting. This news comes just prior to October, which is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
“We are pleased to make this announcement as we prepare for National Cyber Security Awareness Month,” said Linda Criddle, president of the Safe Internet Alliance. “This diverse group of new members further illustrates the increasing interest from companies, non-profits and organizations in making the Internet safe.”
“We continue to see high demand for ways to join research, best practices and methods to improve online safety, and we hope that National Cyber Security Awareness Month will spur others to join these efforts,” Criddle concluded.
The Safe Internet Alliance’s central mission is to promote a safe Internet and better educate and protect all users – especially children, teens and the elderly – from Internet corruption, crime and abuse.
Based in Arlington, Virginia, the Safe Internet Alliance is a nonprofit, 501(c)(4) corporation. Contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes and are not deductible as business expenses. For more information, please visit us at www.safeinternet.org
