Schmidt: U.S. can fight cyberwar

We've told you about dire warnings that the U.S. would lose a cyberwar. Well, Howard Schmidt, the White House Cybersecurity Coordinator, has said that isn't true. The federal government and the private businesses that control 85 percent of the nation's critical IT infrastructure are better positioned than ever to fend off massive digital assaults, Schmidt tells GovInfoSecurity. Last month, former National Intelligence Director Michael McConnell told lawmakers that the United States would lose a cyberwar. Schmidt countered that the country is better prepared than ever before, but that the country must remain vigilant.
